New questions have arisen in the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic regarding potential secret communications between Dr. Anthony Fauci and his subordinates after Senior Advisor Dr. David Morens recently testified that he took deliberate steps to evade Freedom Of Information Act.
Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, said that Morens’ emails to members of EcoHealth and the National Institute of Health (NIH) referenced a “secret back channel” with which they could avoid transparency to the American people.
During his public testimony, David Morens testified that he “may have” used Fauci’s personal email to avoid FOIA concerns. This stunning admission, combined with a number of Morens’ emails to EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak and others mentioning a “private email” prompted the official request for Fauci’s private emails and phone records.
On June 3 Fauci is expected to participate in his first public hearing since officially retiring from public service.
Among the topics over which he’s likely to be questioned:
Fauci has shown himself to be a nimble dodger of pointed questioning in the past, particularly in his exchanges with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
But fancy rhetorical footwork may no longer be enough to spare the man who referred to himself as the embodiment of “Science” from what’s in his own private email and phone records.
