Tech billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday offered to help fund legal actions against the dozens of “corrupt officials” who allegedly allowed Pakistani grooming gangs to sexually exploit young girls in the United Kingdom.

Former Reform member of parliament (MP) Rupert Lowe [pictured above] launched a crowd-funded independent inquiry earlier this year in response to the UK government’s decision not to investigate the grooming gang scandal, according to the Watford Observer.

Touting his Interim results on X Tuesday, Lowe said it was “one of the most comprehensive exposes of the rape gang scandal to date.”

“Our Rape Gang Inquiry has today released research detailing eighty-five local authorities in which the gang-based sexual exploitation of children is taking place, or has historically done so,” Lowe wrote.

The inquiry found that the “targeted exploitation” is perpetrated by organized groups of “predominantly Pakistani males” with patterns of abuse linked to the failures of local authorities and law enforcement agencies to protect the victims.

Musk posted in response: “I would like to help fund legal actions against corrupt officials who aided and abetted the rape of Britain, per the official government inquiry. Please reply below for consideration.”

While Lowe’s ongoing effort is not an “official government inquiry,” as Musk stated, it is being overseen by a qualified independent panel with the support of a legal advisory team.

In a statement on the Crowdfunder website, Lowe said “hundreds of brave survivors, family members and whistleblowers” have been interviewed to date, “each with unique stories.”

Ongoing cases have been referred to relevant authorities, and the Rape Gang Inquiry will shortly be writing to all local authorities where these heinous crimes have been identified to request full transparency and cooperation. The Rape Gang Inquiry is now working with our legal team and shall commence hearings later this year. This is a chance for victims to speak, experts to be interviewed and a full report/recommendations to then be drafted.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer (Labor party) finally announced an official inquiry into the national scandal after his party blocked an investigation in January. Lowe’s independent investigation continued on, raising over £600,000, or $800,000 in American dollars.

Police recorded rape offenses have increased dramatically in England and Wales in the past decade, coinciding with mass immigration.

In 2012/13, there were just over 16,000 offenses, per Statista. 

After this year, rape offences increased substantially, reaching a peak of 71,667 in 2024/25, the most recent reporting year. When 2024/25 is compared with 2002/03, there has been an almost sixfold increase in the number of rape offences recorded by the police in England and Wales.

Similar patterns can be seen in Scotland and Northern Ireland, Statista found.
