Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has confirmed that Vice President and Border Czar Kamala Harris is in favor of granting citizenship to roughly 11 million immigrants that have illegally entered the U.S. during Joe Biden’s presidency.
In an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’S “State of the Union,” Warren acknowledged the need for what she called “comprehensive border policy reform” when Tapper pressed her to defend the border policies of the Biden-Harris administration.
However, Warren placed blame at the feet of Congress for the unprecedented influx of illegal border crossings at multiple times during the Biden administration.
Warren claimed that more taxpayer-funded resources are needed at the border and in those states that have welcomed those border crossers. She also called for a pathway to citizenship and said that Harris will work with Congress to make that happen.
Donald Trump’s running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-PA) called out Harris for wanting to artificially swell Democrat voter rolls at a Minnesota campaign rally on Saturday.
Vance warned that Harris would erode key protections of voter and election integrity by granting mass citizenship to illegal immigrants.
Vance said:
“She wants to hand over control of our country to people who shouldn’t be here in the first place. And we cannot let her. And I have a message, a very simple message to the millions of illegal aliens who are in this country and shouldn’t be. If you are here, start packing your bags right now because Donald J. Trump is coming back into office.”
Granting citizenship to tens of millions of potential future Democratic voters who have been wooed with free taxpayer funded benefits is a questionable policy by itself.
But Warren’s push to grant citizenship to those who have crossed the border illegally is also seen as a slap in the face to the immigrants who have followed the legal process for entering this country and gaining citizenship.
