NextImg:Democrats Angrily Walk Out of Senate Confirmation Hearing For Emil Bove, Trump’s Nominee For Third Circuit Before GOP Unanimously Votes Him Out of Committee

Senate Democrats on Thursday angrily stormed out of the confirmation hearing of Emil Bove, President Trump’s anti-judicial activist nominee for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee later unanimously voted to advance Bove out of the Committee, paving the way to his ultimate confirmation on the Senate floor.

Bove served as an Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York for nine years, co-chairing the office’s Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit, and represented Trump against Special Prosecutor Jack Smith in the classified records case. As one of Trump’s former defense lawyers, Bove gained extensive experience with the Democrats’ lawfare tactics.

Until Attorney General Pam Bondi was confirmed, Bove briefly served as the president’s Acting AG, and according to the Article III Project’s Mike Davis, he came to office knowing “just where the bad actors were hiding in the Justice Department.”

According to Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), “the left fears” Bove because of his “unimpeachable” commitment to the law and because he was nominated “to overthrow the left-wing activists who pervert our justice system.”

While at the SDNY, Bove “prosecuted the largest and most dangerous criminal conspiracies in the world, including Nicolás Maduro, the socialist dictator of Venezuela, and drug traffickers involved with the notorious, “El Chapo,” Schmitt wrote in an oped at the Washington Examiner, Thursday. “He has the resolve we need to enforce the law faithfully and protect the American people from criminals.”

Consequently, Dems have been trying to sink Bove’s nomination for the past few weeks, using tried and true tactics such the appearance of a DOJ “whistleblower,” a letter of opposition signed by disgruntled former DOJ lawyers, and negative opeds by former colleagues,  but Chairman Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) was not deterred.

Enraging Democrats, Grassley ignored  Senator Cory Booker’s procedural objections, cut off debate, and forced a vote.
Booker stayed in the chamber after the rest of the Democrats left to fulminate against Grassley’s hardline approach.

“They cut off all debate, rammed through a vote on. But when people walked out, as I sat there continuing to appeal to the conscience of my fellow senators who now are showing their willingness to just bow to Donald Trump’s will to be able to undermine this institution in order to do his bidding,” he whined in a selfie video posted on social media later.

“This was a day of shame for this committee. And what we just witnessed today was an utter sham enforcing through one of the most controversial nominees ever to the American Circuit Courts,” Booker added.

Cheers to Emil Bove–President Trump’s bold and fearless federal appellate judicial nominee–on his unanimous support from the Senate Judiciary Committee today. Emil is so good the Senate Democrats didn’t even vote against him.

Davis issued the following statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance Bove to a full Senate vote:

“The Democrats’ childish behavior in the Senate Judiciary Committee meeting showed they truly have no real arguments against Emil Bove, a bold and fearless defender of the Constitution. Bove has the qualifications and temperament for the job and is unafraid to put a stop to illegal and unconstitutional attacks on the executive branch. At his hearing, Emil Bove proved that President Trump made an excellent choice in his nomination.

“The left fears Bove because he’s effective. The establishment resents him because he doesn’t play their game. But the American people need judges like Emil Bove–serious constitutionalists who apply the law as written, stand firm in the face of pressure, and don’t bend to the woke mob or media intimidation.

“As the full Senate prepares to consider his nomination, the choice is clear. Emil Bove has the intellect, the integrity, and the backbone to serve with distinction on the Third Circuit. The Article III Project urges every senator to confirm a nominee who will defend the Constitution, enforce the rule of law, and never flinch in the face of adversity. Emil Bove deserves a swift and overwhelming confirmation.”
