The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has called on the CEOs of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit to testify before a hearing in October examining the rise of leftist radicalization and violence on their platforms.

“The hearing will examine the radicalization of online forum users, including instances of open incitement to commit politically motivated acts,” Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said in a statement Wednesday.

The CEOs of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit respectively are Humam Sakhnini, Gabe Newell, Dan Clancy and Steve Huffman.

“The politically motivated assassination of Charlie Kirk claimed the life of a husband, father, and American patriot. In the wake of this tragedy, and amid other acts of politically motivated violence, Congress has a duty to oversee the online platforms that radicals have used to advance political violence,” Comer stated. “To prevent future radicalization and violence, the CEOs of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit must appear and explain what actions they will take to ensure their platforms are not exploited for nefarious purpose.”

The CEOs should also asked to explain their bias against conservative users, such as the recent permanent ban of a Reddit user from r/politics for posting a link to a New York Post story about how Tyler Robinson’s trans/furry boyfriend allegedly hated conservatives and Christians.

In testimony before the U.S. Senate this week, FBI Di

rector Kash Patel told Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) that the FBI is currently investigating “a lot more” than 20 social media users on Discord and other platforms in connection to Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Redditors, according to the X Account Reddit Lies, are now actively purging comments from their timelines so they can not be used as evidence during the hearing, which is set for October 8.
