Commentator Steve Cortes is pulling back the curtain on a highly visible part of the Green Energy movement with his new documentary “BLOWN AWAY: Exposing the Wind Scam.”
The documentary, produced by Cortes Investigates, shows how the collosal wind turbines are “one gigantic, expensive scam” that is dependent on fossil fuels for construction and maintenance.
Cortes argues political agendas are behind the ongoing push for wind energy rather than market forces or practical energy needs.
In the trailer for his film, Cortes sets out to demonstrate how the wind turbines end up harming the environment and visually polluting the landscapes.
The documentary was filmed in New Mexico, home to the nation’s largest wind project, where Cortes interviews local energy advocates from the Rio Grande Foundation as well as Native Americans whose tribal lands have become home to many of these wind projects.
Cortes also points out how Hollywood has managed to shed light on the true costs associated with wind power in the television series “Landman” featuring Billy Bob Thornton whose oilman character outlines the contradictions of so-called clean energy wind turbines requiring vast amounts of oil and gas during their lifecycle.
Cortes maintains that natural gas makes more sense as an environmentally responsible path forward, thanks to America’s vast underground reserves.
The documentary also sounds a warning that without reliable energy sources, particularly for artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing, the U.S. may fall behind nations like China in terms of technological advancement and economic competitiveness.
Cortes is skeptical regarding concerns over climate change, dismissing them as exaggerated and arguing that fossil fuels like natural gas are needed to meet America’s growing energy demands.
