In yet another example of a prominent far-left activist using anti-Semitic rhetoric and supporting terrorism, a major labor leader for Amazon, who has been praised by top Democratic politicians, has openly voiced his support for the massive Hamas attacks against Israel two weeks ago.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Amazon Labor Union (ALU) President Christian Smalls tweeted the phrase “from the river to the sea,” a common slogan utilized by Palestinians to call for the complete destruction of Israel and the elimination of the Jewish people.

Smalls posted another tweet saying “it’s Viva Palestine all day and all night just like it’s Viva Cuba,” and also retweeted a tweet which included the hashtag #PalestinianLivesMatter; in the latter case, he was promoting a post about an event he will be attending with former leader of the Labour Party in the United Kingdom, Jeremy Corbyn, who was removed as party leader over allegations of anti-Semitism after he met with Hamas terrorists.

By contrast, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy described the attacks on Israel “shocking and painful.”

Smalls has previously received praise from Joe Biden, as well as Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). In May 2022, at a White House event with other labor organizers, Biden greeted Smalls with a hug and a handshake.

“I like you, you’re my kind of trouble,” Biden said to Smalls at the time. “Let’s not stop.”

Sanders had invited Smalls to be a witness during a Senate Budget Committee hearing in 2022, testifying on the labor practices of Amazon; Sanders had also donated $10,000 to the union in June of 2022. Furthermore, Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) had appeared at a rally with Smalls in April of 2022, during which Sanders praised Smalls for standing up against “our oligarchy.”

Smalls’ rhetoric reflects a broader pattern of labor union leaders voicing support for Palestinian terrorists, even as the companies they work for support Israel. After the Twitter account for the Starbucks workers’ union, Starbucks Workers United (SWU), wrote a post declaring “Solidarity with Palestine,” the coffee giant threatened legal action against union members who sided with the anti-Israel rhetoric, citing “irreparable harm” that such comments would cause for the company.
