NextImg:Biden Administration to Spend $20 Billion Funding ‘Green Bank’ Projects

The Biden Administration has announced several organizations that will receive $20 billion in federal funding in order to support so-called “clean energy” projects across the country.

According to Axios, the “Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund” marks the largest non-tax investment in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, a bill that, despite its title, had very little to do with combating inflation and instead largely focused on the “green” agenda of addressing so-called “global warming.”

A total of $27 billion will be spent in the project, which will also focus on allegedly “disadvantaged” communities dealing with the impact of pollution.

The program will be led by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and will fund nonprofits that will use the money to support networks of financial institutions. These banks and other institutions will then provide low-cost loans and other forms of financial aid to their designated communities. This aspect has earned the program the nickname of the “green bank” initiative.

Of the total amount of money spent on the project, $14 billion will specifically go to low-income and rural areas, particularly neighborhoods with populations that are mostly minorities, as well as “energy communities” such as communities with recently-closed coal mines and other energy companies. That money will be spent under the umbrella of the National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF).

The NCIF will fund multiple projects, including $7 billion for the Climate United Fund to focus its efforts on consumers, small businesses, farms, and schools. Another project under the NCIF will see $5 billion given to the Coalition for Green Capital, with the intention of “leveraging the existing and growing national network of green banks.” Another $2 billion will go to the Power Forward Communities to fund “decarbonized” affordable housing.

These and many other projects reflect the Biden Administration’s ongoing obsession with global warming and “green” projects, a top focus for the far-left even as most Americans consistently rank the environment as one of their least important issues.
