Over the last few days, many children in Texas told their parents what they heard or saw in the classrooms about Charlie Kirk's assassination.

Unfortunately, some teachers decided to engage in political activism. They expressed opinions, usually negative, of Charlie Kirk. It was too much for many parents who went over to see the principal.

It was also too much for Governor Greg Abbott, as we see in this story:

The Texas Education Agency is investigating teachers and staff who have "posted and/or shared reprehensible and inappropriate content on social media" about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

As expected, the American Federation of Teachers played the "rights" and "political witch hunt" cards.

Of course, we will soon hear that the governor is a Nazi, a racist, and plans to cancel the next election to stay in power. The Democrats are a "one song band" and that's about it.

The real issue is not rights but common sense. Nobody pays taxes to have their kids indoctrinated in public schools.

My guess is that some students, probably junior or high school, may have brought up the topic. All we want is for teachers to respect the parents and avoid opinions. You can say something proper like the shooting was terrible and violence is out of turn. Unfortunately, some went beyond that and parents gave the principal an earful.

Thank God. What were these teachers thinking? As we can see, some were not using their brains:

A teacher and football coach at Klein ISD, near Houston, was fired after commenting on a Facebook post and calling Kirk “racist, homophobic, a misogynist, transphobic nasty person,” according to the Houston Chronicle. Additionally, a Baylor University graduate student who was a student-teacher intern at Midway ISD in Waco was removed after allegedly writing “this makes me giggle” in response to reports of the shooting, according to KWTX.

Racist, homophobic, misogynist, transphobic nasty person? Again, don't these people know any other words? They are not only irresponsible but rather predictable as well.

Well, hello to consequences brought to you by Governor Abbott and angry Texas moms.
